Pragmatism

John Dewey

John Dewey argued that many problems arise in modern social orders because thoughts/actions have become separated from the valued practical results they are intended to achieve.

But when communities become quite large and when many diverse communities (with different values) are close together, communication may get confused.

Examples of Pragmatism

When you look at the black lives matter community it has vastly different views with in it. A lot of communication can get lost and can become confusing. You see so many different views and takes on social media its hard to really understand which message BLM is trying to portray. Some people may think they are rioters, some may think they are civil rights activist, and others may think they are thieves. So when you look at the George Floyd riots and the black lives matter movement the thoughts and actions of it had been separated so the practical results were not achieved
