The definition of Symbolic Interactionism is a theory that focuses on how individuals interact.

This means people create common symbols and meanings that they can assign to things thus creating labels.

An Example…

Prof. Martin gave the example, “ Members of a baseball team learn to play different positions with different skills by playing in relation to each other.” and also sated “Each position involves a different “identity” – a different set of actions and priorities.”

This got me thinking about a trend on tik-tok about how we look at what an athlete may wear which can give us an insight to who they are as people and can somehow gauge their “Identity” This also goes for positions and what position you play could predict who you are as a person.
